New England Academy of Dance

NEAD does an outstanding job teaching dancers ages 2-18 in classical ballet. Miss Mary-Lynn’s enthusiasm is contagious and she starts many a young dancer on a lifelong love of the arts. Ted, Ginna, Frances and Kristen do a first rate job training ballet dancers, all the way up to the professional level, in a personal and kind manner. NEAD’s dancers are accepted every summer at the country’s best summer programs and there are numerous performance and enrichment opportunities all year long at NEAD. I highly, highly recommend joining the NEAD family!

Dance is my daughter's passion and NEAD has been a nurturing and supportive school for her to pursue ballet. The directors inspire a love of dance, encourage a collaborative environment for the girls, and foster the importance of community service. Its a serious dance school with recognition that children and teens need balance. Couldn't ask for more!

I have been going to NEAD since I was 2. I have learned so much in the time I have been at NEAD. Everyone is so nice to each other and we treat each other like family! Every year there is a annual Nutcracker! This year is the 31st year and my 5th year performing in it. Gina and Frances and Ted are so nice but when it comes down to it they will yell but that yelling make you a better dancer! I would really recommend coming here!❤️

New England Academy of Dance 3 plus studios, Marley flooring Building, Safe- beautiful waiting area, changing room, shower Clean, well lighted Studios Technique: ABT Vaganova/Cecchetti/ combination Lyrical also offered, my daughters have not taken but students enjoy it. Musical theater classes offered for high school theater kids. Partnering available at level 6a and up. Low injuries- Teachers very careful and follow the ABT holistic program.. Adult ballet and Zumba classes offered. Physical Therapy available onsite! Technique ballet class not used used for rehearsals. Rehearsals happen on weekends outside of technique class. (2) Performance opportunities per year, school-wide.. Lecture, demonstrations also for Enrichment & Company members. Casting is equitable and inclusive. General comments: Excellent training as a pre-professional ballet school that is also balanced and nurturing. Students feel that NEAD is their second home.
